Fulton Reception and Diagnostic Center inmate dies

The Missouri Department of Corrections announced Tuesday an inmate died at Fulton Reception and Diagnostic Center (FRDC).

Zachary McBee, 35, was pronounced dead on Nov. 1 at approximately 9:53 p.m. at FRDC, according to a department release.

McBee was serving a seven year sentence at FRDC for two counts of receiving stolen property. He was received in the Missouri Department of Corrections on Oct. 30, 2019.

According to online department records, McBee had other active offenses of domestic assault (third degree), DWI/alcohol -- persistent offender, stealing and tampering with motor vehicle (first degree).

McBee was charged by the Callaway County Prosecutor's Office on Sept. 22 with felony rape (first degree), armed criminal action, domestic assault (third degree), unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of a controlled substance, according to a sheriff's office release.

An autopsy will be conducted.
