A North Callaway High School student recently earned an award from the National Junior Angus Association (NJAA).
Adrienne Bryant, 17, of Fulton, was awarded the NJAA Bronze award, according to an Angus release.
She is a member of the NJAA and the Missouri Junior Angus Association. She won the state scholarship in 2023.
Bryant has taken part in shows at the state, regional and national level.
At the National Junior Angus Show, she participated in the 2022 mentoring program. She has also submitted weight data to the Angus Herd Improvement Records.
The Bronze award Bryant received is the first level of the NJAA Recognition Program. The program began in 1972.
To receive the award, junior Angus breeders must apply for the award and also meet the point requirements in participation areas.
"Applicants are evaluated in areas of junior Angus association activities and leadership, participation in showmanship, contests and shows, using performance testing to improve their herd and their progress in producing and merchandising Angus cattle," a release states.
