William Woods University was nationally recognized for its equestrian program.
Show Horse Today conducted their annual reader's choice survey, where readers of the magazine vote on a variety of categories. More than 65,000 votes were cast this year.
WWU was awarded the reader's choice silver award for the category of best college or university equine program. The reader's choice survey considers colleges across the country.
The gold award was given to the University of Findlay in Ohio, and the bronze award was given to Auburn University in Alabama.
Show Horse Today covers the major organizations of the equestrian industry, such as the American Quarter Horse Association and the Appaloosa Horse Club.
Other categories in the reader's choice survey include best trainer, best stallion and best all-around breeding program.
Jennie Petterson, Dean of Equestrian Studies at WWU, said in a press release it is an honor to be ranked in the national publication.
"Show Horse Today's rankings include some of the top individuals and companies in the Equestrian world, and we could not be more proud to be counted among them," Petterson said.
